My work is about how I use the special paper folding from my great grandma, who has been passed away, to reconnect with my family again. As a child of the youngest generation, I have different way of seeing this world, therefore me and my family often misunderstand with each other. The paper folding I learned from great grandma is a subconscious behavior, which started from my childhood. From my cultural background, paper folding or paper offering is a tradition, especially in the farewell ritual. It is a special way to link me and my great grandma, a symbol to heal the relationship between me and family, a sign that my great grandma is telling me: it is the time to be better with my family.

Naturally, gap generation in family always exist. What we can do is to forgive, respect and understand each other. After all, the young as new blood step forward to widen new world and the old have more experience and history to tell to the young , and then there will be in harmony.

Process

put all the message together is not only about to be collective but also to show that different people has own story in life but our love/missing to someone is the same.

The fresh flower and the dry flower don't mean the life and death. It means present/future and the past. All the messages people wrote down is a special bridge between people and people they love pr miss.
